Dr. Ankita Bhowmik is a researcher specializing in solid waste management, carbon footprint assessment, and emissions analysis. With extensive experience in developing waste management frameworks, lifecycle assessments, and sustainability strategies, her work focuses on integrating green technologies into waste processing and recycling. She has contributed to projects on waste composition analysis, carbon accounting methodologies, and municipal waste management system optimization. Dr. Bhowmik has collaborated with leading institutions and policymakers to enhance sustainability practices in urban and rural waste systems, emphasizing the role of data-driven decision-making for effective emission mitigation. Dr. Ankita Bhowmik is currently a Post Doctoral Research Associate fellow of National Renewable Energy Fellowship at the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), working in the Department of Sustainable Energy Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, IITK. She is currently working on processing of agricultural waste into green construction material. Her doctoral research at Jadavpur University focused on developing an innovative waste management technology for producing organic fertilizer from rural abattoir waste, contributing to circular economy principles. She has extensive experience in assessing the carbon footprint of organizations and industrial processes, designing strategies for emission reduction, and integrating sustainable technologies into waste management. Dr. Bhowmik has co-authored multiple peer-reviewed research articles and holds a granted patent on recycling slaughterhouse waste. Her expertise extends to environmental chemistry, lifecycle assessments, and policy analysis in renewable energy and waste valorization. She has presented her research at international conferences and actively collaborates with policymakers and institutions to advance sustainable development goals.
