Laura Araque is a civil engineer deeply passionate about geotechnics, boasting a robust academic background and extensive professional experience. Since 2023, Laura has been an integral part of the Tailor Engineering team in Italy, where she serves as a project engineer. Her remarkable adaptability to diverse environments and cultures has rendered her a versatile and highly esteemed professional within the geotechnical field. Laura commenced her career as an engineering assistant before joining Espinosa y Restrepo, where she played a pivotal role in crafting detailed geotechnical reports and overseeing construction processes. Her adeptness at deciphering intricate data and furnishing precise recommendations proved invaluable to the team. In 2015, Laura embarked on her master's studies at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil. Over two years, she conducted research in the university's experimental field, focusing on sandy soils to investigate the interaction between natural soil and concrete piles. Leaping into international waters, Laura joined CEMADEN in Brazil in 2017, where she developed algorithms for interpreting rainfall data and mitigating landslide risks. Her overseas experience propelled her to actively participate in international conferences, where she disseminated her expertise and contributed to the advancement of the field. In 2022, Laura embarked on a new role as an Academic Assistant at La Salle University, engaging in research projects aimed at enhancing geotechnical processes. Her unwavering commitment to excellence led her to assume the position of Lecturer, imparting crucial knowledge to budding civil engineering students. Before her academic assistantship, Laura gained invaluable experience as a Lecturer at La Salle University from 2019 to 2020. During this period, she taught pivotal courses such as "Construction Methods in Geotechnical Engineering" and "Algorithms and Numerical Methods," equipping students with practical skills to tackle challenges in the civil engineering realm. With a blend of technical prowess and practical acumen, Laura continues to thrive as a trailblazer in her field. Her dedication to innovation and unwavering pursuit of excellence have cemented her status as a prominent figure in international geotechnical engineering.
