Zhuguo Li is a Professor at Yamaguchi University, Japan. He got his PhD in Architectural Engineering from Nagoya University, Japan, in 2000. He is a member of ACI Committee 238 and 130-D. He received the Prize of Architectural Institute of Japan (AIJ) for his excellent achievements in the field of rheology and numerical analysis of fresh concrete, and the Prize of Japan Concrete Institute for the development of geopolymers using municipal waste incineration ashes. His other research interests include repairing of fire-damaged concrete, CO2 sequestration technology of concrete, and environmental performance assessment of concrete. He developed a highly permeable silicate solution to restore the strength and durability of fire-damaged concrete, and a computer-aided tool for evaluating environmental performance of concrete based on a database of environmental burden of more than 40 sorts of recycling raw materials and the social cost calculation. A CO2 foamed concrete production method and a technology to produce geopolymers by indirectly utilizing CO2 have been also proposed by his research team.
