Dr. Lamia Touiti Bouebdellah is an Associate Professor of Geotechnical Engineering at the National Engineering School of Gabès (Tunisia). Her research interests are primarily focused on experimental geomechanics, with a particular emphasis on the behavior of soft soils and crushable calcareous sands. Her work investigates particle-scale breakage mechanisms, stiffness evolution, and the mechanical and dynamic responses of geomaterials under varying loading conditions. She has authored several scientific contributions, including a seminal monograph on the soft clays of Tunis. She has applied advanced experimental methods for microstructural analysis and for characterizing and identifying sensitive clays and crushable sands. Her research has been further strengthened through visiting appointments at leading international laboratories, notably Kyung Hee University (South Korea) and ISMGEO (Italy), where she conducted detailed investigations into the physical, mechanical, and dynamic properties of natural calcareous and soft soils. Dr. Touiti Bouebdellah serves as Associate Editor of the international journal Geo-Engineering (Springer). Her expertise is regularly sought for scientific assessments, international research collaborations, and the organization of academic and technical events. In addition to her academic activities, she is the Director of the Technology Transfer Office at the University of Gabès, where she leads strategic programs in innovation, research valorization, intellectual property, and university-industry partnerships.
