Dr. Amira Hamdy is an accomplished academic and interior architect, currently serving as an Associate professor in the Décor Department at the Faculty of Arts and Design, Pharos University in Alexandria, Egypt. She is widely recognized for her robust academic and research portfolio, with specialized expertise in sustainable interior architecture, furniture design, and healthcare environments. In February 2025, Dr. Amira was selected as a winning candidate for the Erasmus+ Teaching Mobility Program, funded by the European Union. As part of this distinguished initiative, she served as a Visiting Professor at the University of Naples Federico II in Italy, delivering an international workshop titled “GRAPHS: Graphic Pattern from Heritages”, in collaboration with the DBE “Master of Science in Design for the Built Environment.” Dr. Amira has published extensively in Q1 and Q2 international journals, focusing on AI in design education, sustainable urban interventions, and the socio-economic dimensions of design. She also contributes to national multidisciplinary journals, advancing interior architecture through a holistic lens of design, health, and sustainability. At Pharos University, she also holds key leadership roles including ViceCoordinator of International Relations, Key member in the Interview & NewComers Acceptance Committee, and Editing Manager of the Pharos International Journal. A dedicated mentor and researcher, Dr. Amira continues to shape the next generation of designers through cross-cultural engagement, forward-thinking pedagogy, and a deep passion for innovative, sustainable design solutions.
