Dr Joy Tuoyo Adu is a Senior Lecturer in Civil Engineering and Coordinator of the Coursework Master’s Programme in Waste and Resources Management at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Her research focuses on water quality modelling, water and wastewater treatment, and sustainable environmental engineering and management, particularly in resource-constrained settings. She is committed to developing cost-effective, innovative solutions to address the environmental impacts of water pollution and to promote equitable access to clean water. Dr Adu actively supervises undergraduate and postgraduate research and contributes to interdisciplinary initiatives advancing resilient infrastructure in the wake of Climate Change. She has also published in rated journals. She brings over 18 years of combined teaching and research experience to her academic and professional engagements. She is registered with several engineering bodies.
