Dr Ndawo is an experienced infrastructure and project management expert who currently serves as Senior Director of Estates and Infrastructure at the Central University of Technology, Bloemfontein, in the Free State Province of South Africa. With over two decades of experience in infrastructure development and management, particularly in water infrastructure, he brings extensive strategic, technical, and operational expertise to his role in the higher education sector. He holds a National Diploma in Civil Engineering from Walter Sisulu University of Technology (formerly Border Technikon), a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering from the School of Built Environment at the University of South Africa, a Master’s in Business Leadership from the School of Business and Leadership at the University of South Africa, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from MANCOSA (Management College of Southern Africa). In addition to his academic qualifications, Dr Ndawo completed both a Management Development Programme (MDP) and an Executive General Management Programme (GMP) at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), University of Pretoria, South Africa. Dr Ndawo spent over a decade at Rand Water Utility as a project manager, overseeing the planning, execution, and implementation of bulk water supply infrastructure projects. His leadership contributed significantly to the improvement of water infrastructure in various municipalities in the Gauteng, Free State, and North West provinces of South Africa. He is a registered professional construction project manager and an active member of the South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE), reflecting his commitment to maintaining professional standards and advancing the engineering discipline. Dr Ndawo is widely recognised for his visionary leadership, strategic planning skills, and practical experience in the public infrastructure sector. His interests include informal settlement encroachment on bulk water pipelines, with the aim of developing solutions that benefit water utilities, municipalities, and local communities in creating sustainable, liveable communities.
