Professor Beatriz Flores is the director of the Mezfer Technology and Development Center, located in Celaya, Mexico. This private research center serves the Aktal Group, which manufactures and sells crop care and nutrition products. Professor Flores leads a research group dedicated to studying the biological activity of secondary plant metabolites for the benefit of crops, "plants helping other plants", developing biotechnological products for agriculture that can be incorporated into both conventional and organic farming. Since assuming this position in 2013, she has obtained eight patents, and the company already sells five biorational agricultural products in México, Brasil, and the USA. Professor Flores received her bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Guanajuato and her PhD from the University of Nuevo León, México Additionally, she is an active member of the INANA A.C. group and the Alfredo Duges Center for Social and Environmental Studies, contributing with her knowledge in Ecological Agriculture and Herbalism for the care of Native Bees and the management of urban ecosystems and wetlands.
