Shota Ando is a project assistant professor at the University of Tokyo. In 2016, he earned his Doctor of Engineering degree from Meiji University in Japan, where he conducted research on the enhancement of polymer materials under the mentorship of Professor Kazukiyo Nagai. During his doctoral studies, he spent one year at the University of Texas, working on mixed gas separation membranes under the supervision of Professor Benny D. Freeman. Subsequently, from 2016 to 2018, he developed high-performance polypeptides as a postdoctoral researcher in the field of polymer synthesis under Professor Takeshi Endo at the Institute of Molecular Engineering, Kinki University. Since 2018, he has been working under Professor Kohzo Ito at the University of Tokyo, focusing on the novel structural design of PRs and the functionalization of materials utilizing these structures.
