Xiaobin Wang is a principal model data scientist at Donaldson Company, focusing on digital innovation and building fundamental models and artificial intelligence tools. He obtained a PhD in physics from University of California San Diego and has worked as a director at Avalanche Technology and a senior staff at Seagate Technology. Dr. Wang’s research includes machine learning models combining scientific principles with data driven approach, dynamic thermal process of nanoscale electromagnetic material and devices, mesoscopic biopolymer phase condensation. He is an advocate for and practitioner of bottom-up (from physics to system performance) and top-down (from system performance to components requirement) approaches to design and predict performance of emerging systems and devices. Xiaobin has published over 100 papers, has written books, edited journals, and holds over 50 patents.
