Cherif Amor currently holds the position of Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar. He draws on over 35 years of extensive experience in academia, research, and administration. Prior to this, he served as Director of the Interior and Environmental Design graduate program and Chair of the Department of Design at Texas Tech University. His research explores the connection between neuro imaging and the built environment, with an emphasis on evidence-based design. Cherif is an active reviewer for various design journals and publications. He also contributes to the field as a site visitor for the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) and chairs the Interior Design Network within the Environmental Design Research Association (EDRA). In addition, he advises on curricular design for design colleges across the Middle East. He is a former Director of Education for the Texas/Oklahoma Chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). Over the last decade, Cherif has received and/or been nominated for fifteen awards in teaching, research, and service.
