Iwona Gruss is an assistant professor at Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences (Poland). She obtained her PhD degree in 2015 and her ability degree in 2023. Her research interests focus on applied entomology, biomonitoring and ecotoxicological research. Dr. Gruss has contributed significantly to her field, with over 40 peer-reviewed publications, 16 of which she served as the first author. Her work has appeared in leading journals such as Soil & Tillage Res., Sci. Rep., and Environ. Geochem. Health., Ecol. In., Appl. Soil Ec. Her current research emphasizes the impact of environmental pollutants, including pesticide mixtures, on soil ecosystems, particularly their effects on soil invertebrates. Dr. Gruss is actively involved in several research projects. Notably, she has led investigations into the influence of climate change on soil organisms and mountain pasture ecosystems, and she has contributed to projects exploring sustainable farming practices, such as using ozonated water in asparagus cultivation to reduce pesticide use.
