Director of Technology Transfer at the Metropolitan Technological University of Chile, associate professor at the Department of Industry and Head of the Soils and Environment Laboratory at the Faculty of Engineering, is a chemical civil engineer with a degree in engineering sciences and a master's degree in the environment with a specialty in industrial waste treatment. She has more than 20 years of experience in teaching and directing interdisciplinary research and development projects. Over the past 8 years, she has been dedicated to applied research in soils, in order to solve problems of contamination of mining soils and tailings and their impact on the health of the population. Her main line of research is the development of methods and new technologies that allow quantifying the bioaccessibility of heavy metals and metalloids present in contaminated soils, mining sites, tailings and various environmental matrices to quantify the environmental risk and the health of people, providing environmental management tools for sustainable development.
