Dr. Erry Adesta is a Professor in Manufacturing Systems Engineering and Vice Rector (Planning and Cooperation) Universitas Indo Global Mandiri, Palembang, Indonesia. He is a Chartered Professional Mechanical Engineer, registered with the Engineering Council (UK) and a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), UK as well as a life member of the Institution of Engineers Indonesia. Professor Adesta has successfully supervised more than 20 (twenty) PhD students and is currently supervised 2 (two) on-going PhD candidates as the main supervisor. He has published more than 100 scientific publications in various indexed journals and proceedings and is an active researcher. His area of research is Additive Manufacturing, Precision Machining, and Project Management. During his carrier as an academic he has been invited by many universities and various organisations to deliver his keynote addresses and general lectures. He has held many academic administrative posts since joining International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2007, such as Head of Department, Deputy Dean, and the Dean of Faculty of Engineering. Upon returning to his hometown, Palembang in Indonesia, he has been entrusted to hold the administrative post of Vice Rector for Planning and Cooperation at Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM). He has initiated and led the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) team to enter the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ranking 2023 in which UIGM ranked 23 in the country. Dr. Adesta graduated with Bachelor of Mechanical and Production Engineering (Hons) from the then Polytechnic of Huddersfield, UK in 1989 and a Master’s in Integrated Manufacturing Systems from Birmingham University in 1992, UK and a PhD in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Huddersfield, UK in 2002.
