Dr. Efraín Mejía Beltrán has dedicated his career to the field of optics and education. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering in 1993 and later pursued and completed his Master's and Doctorate in Optical Sciences at the Centro de Investigaciones en Optica (CIO) in 1995 and 1999, respectively. Currently holding a position as a research scholar at CIO, his academic journey includes impactful research stays abroad, such as at Polaroid Corporation in Cambridge, MA, USA (1995-1996), and Postdoctoral and Sabbatical stays at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, IL, USA (2000-2001, 2008-2009). Dr. Mejía Beltrán has supervised 4 Bachelor's Theses, 5 Master's Theses, and 5 Doctoral Theses, and his commitment to education extends to teaching over 40 undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He has authored 60+ articles in international journals, three book chapters, presented at more than 20 international conferences, and actively participated in science outreach, contributing to public and student engagement with over 40 activities. Leading seven projects supported by Mexican national agencies, he has been recognized as a member of the National System of Researchers since 1999.
