Yulei Wang received theB.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electronic Science and Technology from Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) in 2001 and 2007 respectively. From 2007 to 2015, he worked in School of Astronautics at HIT. From 2011 to 2012, he was a visiting scholar at Imperial College London. From 2015 to 2018, he was a Professor of Experimental Laser Physics at HIT. He has been a Professor at Hebei University of Technology (HEBUT) since 2018. He is Dean of school of Electronic and Information Engineering, HEBUT. He is Head of Hebei Key Laboratory of Advanced Laser Technology and Equipment, which is interested in high-power lasers, nonlinear optics, ultrafast laser spectroscopy, laser-matter interaction, lidar, and so on. His research interests include high power solid-state lasers, nonlinear optics, stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) and its applications in high-power lasers. He worked as a leadership to build the high power hundred-Joule laser facility with the extremely excellent quality. He holds 25 patents, has authored and co-authored 110 papers in peer-reviewed journals. He gained the First Prize of Army Science and Technology Award (2017), the National Science Foundation for Excellent Young Scholars (2016), the First Prize of Heilongjiang Natural Science Award (2013).
