Wataru Yashiro (Researcher ID: K-5564-2014) is a professor of International Center for Synchrotron Radiation Innovation Smart(SRIS), Tohoku University from 2021. He received phD degree in 2000 from the University of Tokyo, Japan. He was a research associate of Japan Society for JSPS, AIST,NIMS, and GSFS, the University of Tokyo, Japan. In 2005, he became an assistant professor of GSFS, the University of Tokyo, and moved to Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials(IMRAM), Tohoku University in 2012 as an associate professor. Yashiro is a specialist of X-ray optics (X-ray imaging, dynamical X-ray diffraction, and X-ray surface crystallography, etc.). He received 5 remarkable awards including Takuma Award of JSAP (2021), and has published 207 papers and articles including PRL and Optica. He has been the PI of a project of AMED (2017-2020), projects of JST CREST (2017-2023 & 2023-2029), a project of NEDO (2023-2026), and other KAKENHI projects, and is now developing a new frontier of X-ray tomography.
