Dr. Alicia Ares is a headline professor of Materials Scienceat Chemical Engineering Department, Faculty of Sciences, National University of Misiones, Posadas, Misiones, Argentina in South America. Also, sheis principal investigator of Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET) at the Instituto de Materiales de Misiones (IMAM). She is working in the area of materials science in chemical engineering. She has been involved in many projects such as electrochemical treatment and characterization of TiO2nano films, synthesis and characterization of nanostructured coatings, membranes and templates of aluminum and zinc oxides, immobilization of enzimes on nanoporous oxide films for its application in industry.She is also working on characterization and selection of metallic materials for the adequate management of bioethanols and in the development of solidification structures and properties of alloys destined for the replacement of hard tissues. She has authored more than 200 research papers in peer-reviewed, indexed journals and conference proceedings. She was a keynote speaker for 20 international/national conferences and chair and co-chair for 12 international conferences and a member of the advisory and technical committee of 32 national and international conferences. She serves as an assessor for international grants, as well as, an editorial board member and reviewer for international referred journals and scientific proceedings.
