Dr. Basanta Kumar Behera successfully completed his undergraduate studies in the field of Mechanical Engineering, which provided him with a solid foundation in the principles of engineering, and subsequently pursued his postgraduate education in the specialized domain of Polymer Science and Engineering at the esteemed Anna University located in Chennai, India, where he further honed his expertise. Following the completion of his master's degree, he embarked on an intensive research journey that culminated in the attainment of his Doctorate in Philosophy, with a particular focus on the intricate and multifaceted area of polymer composites, which he undertook at the B S Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, India, a reputable institution known for its rigorous academic standards. Throughout his academic career, Dr. Behera has made significant contributions to the body of knowledge in his field by publishing a considerable number of articles in various esteemed and peer-reviewed journals, specifically focusing on the innovative areas of polymer composites and polymer bio-composites, which has garnered attention from fellow researchers and practitioners alike. At present, Dr. Behera is engaged as a faculty member within the Department of Polymer Science and Engineering, where he is responsible for imparting knowledge and guiding students, and he has also served with distinction as the Head of the Department of Polymer Engineering during the period spanning from 2017 to 2021. His extensive research interests encompass a wide array of topics, including but not limited to polymer product design, the intricate processes involved in mould design, the development and application of polymer composites, as well as the burgeoning field of additive manufacturing, commonly referred to as 3D printing, which represents a significant advancement in manufacturing technology. Dr. Behera's diverse expertise and commitment to research not only enhance the academic environment but also contribute to the advancement of knowledge in polymer engineering and its applications across various industries.
