Dr. NaziaTarannum is a dedicated and accomplished Assistant Professor of the Department of Chemistry at ChaudharyCharan Singh University in Meerut. Dr. NaziaTarannum has been shaping young minds through her extensive teaching experience, which spans over 9.8 years since 2015. With a strong academic background in Polymer Chemistry, Material Science, Analytical Chemistry etc., Dr. Tarannum has contributed significantly to both teaching and research within the department. Her research interests include Molecular Imprinting Technology, Docking Study of Metal Compounds, potential nanocomposites form wastes, environmental chemistry, waste management, analytical chemistry, material science etc., and she has published 6 Patents (04 granted), 15 Books/Monographsand 72 papers in reputable scientific journals.She has successfully completed 5 projects funded by UGC, DST-RFBR, Indo-UK, DHR and URGS. One project is currently ongoing of worth 1.5 crore funded by Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.In addition to her research endeavors, Dr. Tarannum is passionate about mentoring students and fostering a collaborative learning environment. She actively participates in various academic conferences and seminars, both nationally and internationally, to stay abreast of the latest developments in her field. Received DST and INSA Travel Grant-2011 for presenting research paper in International Conference held at France. She has received Centre for International co-operation in Science (CICS) INSA Travel Grant in 2015 at France. She has received VIFA Young Faculty Award in June 2016.He has also nominated as Young Scientist by Department of Science and Technology - GOI in 2016 to draft and plan the science and technology enterprise for India in BRICS-STEP 2016 (Brazil Russia, India, China, South Africa-Science and Technology Enterprise). She has visited Scientist to AN Bach Institute, Russian Academy of Science, Moscow, Russia in 2018. She has received Encouragement award from ChaudharyCharan Singh University, Meerut in 2022 with Rs 50,000/- as a grant from University in recognition of Innovative idea in Start Up Cell and innovation Centre. She has received Summer Faculty Research Fellowship (2023) in 2023 at IIT Delhi. Her commitment to excellence in education and research has made her a valuable asset to ChaudharyCharan Singh University, where she continues to inspire the next generation of chemists.Her commitment to academic and research excellence is evident in her role as a research supervisor, where she has successfully guided 2 Ph.D. candidates to completion in the 2023-2024 academic year, with 2 additional students currently working under her guidance. At the master’s level, Dr. Tarannum has supervised 7 M.Sc. Chemistry projects in 2023-2024, while also mentoring undergraduate students, with 2 B.Sc. (NEP) projects successfully completed. Her dedication to fostering academic growth at all levels has made her a respected mentor and a key contributor to the field of chemistry within the university.
