Subrata Dolui is currently employed by Hiroshima University in Japan as a Researcher. He got another Postdoctoral offer from Concordia University. From April 1st he is going to join Concordia University, Canada. His research focused on the development of responsive smart materials for Biomedical and Energy applications. He completed his PhD from Indian Institute of Technology, Bhilai in 2024. He graduated from JNU, New Delhi, with a M.Sc. in 2019 and from Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, Rahara, West Bengal, with a B.Sc. in 2017. Dr. Dolui's research was predominantly centered on Stimuli-responsive polymeric material for various applications like drug delivery, energy field and Photovoltaics solar cell coating material. During this period, he significantly progressed in responsive polymeric material for biomedical application within the Banerjee group. His PhD focus was on materials with tunable properties that are stimuli-responsive. Such "smart" materials have the unique ability to adapt to their surrounding environment by dramatically changing their physiochemical properties upon responding to an external stimulus (e.g., pH, redox, light, mechanical force, temperature, magnetic/electric field, etc. During his Ph.D. studies, in collaboration with Dr. Selvan’s energy devices laboratory. He developed some high heat resistance polymer material. He worked with another research collaborator Dr. Bhattacharyyas’ Nanomaterial laboratory. From this collaboration, he developed Sulfur-dots mediated stimuli-responsive polymer. These stimuliresponsive polymers with sulfur-based copolymers can enhance their functionality and expand their applications in various fields, including bioelectronics, sensors, and medical devices. In addition to his doctoral pursuits, Dr. Dolui made valuable contributions to various projects and authored numerous high-quality publications. His academic journey has been marked by notable achievements, including successfully passing prestigious exams such as Central University Common Entrance Test in 2017, IIT Dhanbad in 2017 and JNU Common Entrance Test in 2017. He was appointed a junior research fellow for 3 years at IIT Bhilai. His exceptional presentation skills garnered recognition at the ICFM conference in 2020 at IIT Khragpur, India, APA-Jaipur- 2024. He attended one day national workshop on “awareness of intellectual property rights”. Dr. Dolui was appointed as a Lecturer at Rungta Rungta College of Engineering and Technology (RCET), India for 6 months. Where he taught chemistry and research. He was a class teacher of more than 300 students. Dr. Dolui is serving as a reviewer at Polymers for Advanced Technology and ACS omega. He has reviewed three articles. He is an active associate member of the Royal Society of Chemistry. In his role as a doctoral researcher, He has authored and co-authored 16 toplevel peer-reviewed journals (5 first author, 3 equal contributions first author, 8 co-authors) in the field of polymer chemistry, and material science. His current citation <130 with h-index 7. He is also the corresponding author of 4 articles (One published and other three under review). His research article Acc. Mater. Res., 2021, 2, 242-251 cited over 41 times, and another amino acidbased research article Biomacromolecules 2021, 22, 3941-3949 cited over 14 times. His drug release paper JACS Au 3 (8), 2117-2122 cited over 6 times. He is the co-author of 3 book chapters and the corresponding author of one book chapter. He is the co-inventor of 3 Indian patents. His research demonstrates the materials science and polymer chemist’s contribution to advancing the field, such as novel polymer synthesis methods, smart materials synthesis, characterization techniques, and innovative applications.
