AZIZUL MOQSUD, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Yamaguchi University, Japan. He received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Geoenvironmental Engineering) from Saga University in 2007, following his M.Sc. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), where he graduated as a Prime Minister’s Gold Medalist. Dr. Moqsud has over two decades of academic and research experience spanning Japan, the United States, and Bangladesh. He has held academic positions at Yamaguchi University and Saga University and served as a Visiting Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley (2018–2019). His interdisciplinary research focuses on bio cementation and bio stabilization for sustainable soil improvement, bioelectricity and microbial fuel cells for smart geo sensing, and bioremediation technologies for eco friendly environmental restoration. Dr. Moqsud is a prolific researcher, authoring more than 150 peer reviewed journal articles in leading international journals, along with four books and nine book chapters. His contributions have been widely recognized through numerous Excellent Presentation Awards, Excellent Teacher Awards at Yamaguchi University, and the Excellent Research Award from Chugoku Electric Power Co. in 2024. He is an active contributor to advancing sustainable and bio based engineering solutions for global geo environmental challenges.
